by Grace Garner

Developed under the guidance of:

Homeland Security

Since the United States began the worldwide war on terrorism following the 9/11 attacks in 2001, the United States counter terrorism operations have focused on the terrorist group al Qaeda. Although al Qaeda has been the main focus, attention and emphasis should be put on Hezbollah because of their serious threat to the United States due to networking alliances with other terrorist organizations and countries. This presentation highlights the Sunni/Shia divide among the Muslim religion, centralization and compartmentalization of Al Qaeda, and the serious security threat of Hezbollah and combatting the terrorist organization.
