We also provide spaces for individual and collaborative study, and experienced librarians who are eager to help you find and utilize information for your assignments.

History

Campbell University's main library moved into its current location in 2010 and was named Wiggins Memorial Library in memory of Dr. Norman Adrian Wiggins and in honor of his wife Dr. Mildred Harmon Wiggins. Dr. Wiggins served as president of Campbell University from 1967-2003, and during those 37 years Dr. Mildred Wiggins worked quietly behind the scenes to support her husband and the Campbell mission. The library reflects the Wiggins' passion and vision for education, providing a dynamic learning environment for students and serving as the center of the University's intellectual life. The original campus library, designated in 1894, was destroyed by fire in 1900, and Carrie Rich Memorial Library was established in 1923.

Holdings

The Wiggins Memorial Library collection currently holds:

• more than one million print and e-book volumes
• more than 180,000 print and electronic serial subscriptions, and
• more than 170,000 media materials

The Law Library collection currently holds:

• more than 200,500 print and e-book volumes
• more than 2,600 periodical subscriptions, and
• almost 89,000 microforms

Mission

The mission of Wiggins Memorial Library is to facilitate access to information resources that support learning, teaching, and research; to provide training for effective and ethical use of these resources; and to support the Campbell community through a state-of-the-art academic environment.
