In consultation with their library liaisons, faculty members
order books, videos, and other materials to support student and faculty research. Purchasing is
done in accordance with the library's collection development
policy.
To assist faculty with the selection of materials, the library subscribes to a variety of
selection aids. These include:
Choice Reviews
Online: CHOICE: Reviews for Academic Libraries publishes 7,000 reviews per year on
academic titles in every subject. Users can search reviews online, or set up a profile to receive
emailed reviews on any topic of interest. You are welcome to speak with your liaison librarian to
tailor a profile.
Resources for College
Libraries: RCL provides listings for a "core collection" of resources that should be owned
by most academic libraries. New items are being added to this list regularly. You can see the
listings for your subject here.
Books in Print:
Books in Print provides publication information for five million titles that are in print, out of
print, or forthcoming. It is the most comprehensive listing we have access to.
Amazon.com: Amazon contains a fairly comprehensive
listing of published books, and the library frequently uses it for ordering.
Designated faculty representatives may submit bulk orders using this spreadsheet. Just download it,
fill it out, save it, and attach it in an email to Ron Epps,
eppsw@campbell.edu.
