The 12th Annual Academic Symposium will be held in-person this year on Wednesday, March 30, 2022
with an option to upload your presentation in advance. As an Academic Symposium presenter,
you are showcasing some of the best student work at Campbell University. We hope you enjoy this experience!
ONLINE student presenters may upload any of the following materials
using this Google Form.
- Video Presentation (as an MP4 file)
- PowerPoint Slides
- Poster Presentation (saved as a PDF file)
- Fine Art as JPG file
- Any other file appropriate to support your presentation
Please upload these materials by Wednesday, March 16. Once we have collected your
presentation materials, they will be published for our campus community and guests
.

As an Academic Symposium presenter, you are showcasing some of the best student work at
Campbell University. We hope you enjoy this experience!
Before preparing your presentation, be sure to read the Presentation
Guidelines for the type of presentation you are giving (oral, poster, art, or
performing arts). This will give you an idea of what to expect, and describe any
formatting requirements.
You may opt-in to have your presentation judged by a faculty member, which
will provide you with valuable feedback and make you eligible for awards! If you decide
not to opt-in for judging, you will still have the opportunity to receive feedback.
Art Exhibits
- Artwork and exhibits may be delivered to the library between 6:00pm Tuesday,
March 29 and 9:00am Wednesday, March 30. Any artwork submitted on Tuesday will be
secured overnight in Rm 224.
Oral Presentations
- Oral presentations will take place in a classroom setting with the presenter(s)
at the front of the room.
- A computer will be available, so bring any visual aids with you to your presentation
on a USB drive (e.g. PowerPoint). Keep a copy of your presentation in your email as
a backup.
- Each student/group will have 20 minutes to present: 15 minutes to speak and 5 minutes
for questions. Be sure to practice your timing; the schedule must be enforced to
accommodate the presenters before and after you.
- A moderator will track your time and give you a 3-minute warning during your
presentation.
- You may reserve a study room to rehearse
prior to the Symposium. It may be helpful to invite individuals who can provide
objective feedback.
Performing Arts Presentations
- Performances will take place in D. Rich.
Poster Presentations
- During your 90 minute Poster Session, you will stand by your poster and answer
questions. Be prepared to give a 3- to 5-minute summary of your research to your
audience.
- Boards and pins for mounting posters will be provided.
- The library can print posters for interested Symposium participants. The first
poster print is free. Re-prints will cost $10.
- If printing in the Library, submit the final draft of your poster to the CMMC staff
via this online
submission form by Tuesday, March 22, 2022. If using the library
poster printer, poster dimensions may be no larger than 36in x 48in.
Student presenters are encouraged to dress professionally.
