Title: Dissolution Enhancement of Repaglinide Using Melt Granulation
Developed under the guidance of Dr. Antoine Al-Achi , College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences

The main purpose of this study is to prepare, by melt granulation, the granules of poorly water-soluble drug Repaglinide to enhance the dissolution rate. PEG 8000, poloxamer-188 and soluplus are used as a meltable hydrophilic binders. The granules are prepared by melting the drug with the polymers at 100°C. A dissolution study of the tablets made from the three formulations, control (without three polymers), F1 (drug melted with three polymers) and F2 (a physical mixture of drug and the polymers) is carried out. The dissolution profile is compared among the three formulations. A p-value less than 0.05 is considered significant.
