Title: Ovarian Cancer: Can It Be Found In Your Abdomen?
Developed under the guidance of Dr. Robert Larson and Dr. Howard Reisner , School of Osteopathic Medicine
Ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of death for women in the United States, with the American Cancer Society estimating 22,000 diagnoses and 14,000 fatalities in 2018. Ovarian cancer is often diagnosed at an advanced stage, and this, as well as, invasive treatment may contribute to the high mortality rate. Presented here is a case demonstrating a typical metastatic pattern for ovarian carcinoma, with spreading to the abdomen. This poster illustrates the tumor morphology, risk factors involved, and potential biomarker testing.
