Rural communities often have higher rates tobacco use in Harnett County, rates are 20% compared to state and national rates of 17.9% and 17.1%, respectively. The purpose of this study was to determine 1) the rate of tobacco use and 2) risk factors associated with tobacco use within the patient population served by the student-led Campbell University Community Care Clinic which offers free health care for uninsured residents of Harnett County.
