Title: Digitization of the Campbell University Herbarium
Developed under the guidance of Dr. Christopher Havran , Biology

Herbaria, repositories of dried plant specimens, are important resources for educational institutions because they allow students to study plants from all over the world. There are currently 4,728 specimens in the Campbell University Herbarium. Starting in December 2017 Campbell University students collaborated with North Carolina State University and the Southeast Regional Network of Expertise and Collections (SERNEC) to generate high-resolution images of all specimens in the Campbell University Herbarium. Currently Campbell students are transcribing data from specimens to be uploaded to the SERNEC website. Soon biologists from around the world will be able to access Campbellā€™s collection online.
