Title: Suspected Klinefelter Syndrome: A Case Study Using FISH Analysis
Developed under the guidance of Dr. Bonnie Brenseke , Osteopathic Medicine
Klinefelter syndrome (KS, 47 XXY) is a common, yet underdiagnosed, chromosomal disorder in men. During dissection of a male cadaver, numerous gallstones, breast development with subareolar masses, and an undescended testicle were discovered. Histopathologic examination of the breast masses confirmed gynecomastia. The possibility of undiagnosed KS was investigated through karyotypic analysis.
